Idyllic Tour Vibes
Idyllic Tour Vibes had no website. I built a custom booking platform where travellers choose a date, book an activity and pay online, with daily limits that make overbooking impossible.

01Challenge
Idyllic Tour Vibes is a tour operator in Mauritius offering excursions and activities to tourists. It had no website, so there was nowhere for a traveller to see the tours, choose a date and pay.
The goal wasn't just to get online. It was to take bookings and payments online.
What made it difficult
- Each activity has a maximum number of participants per day, so the site must never sell more places than exist.
- Adult and child prices differ, and the total has to update as the customer books.
- Payments had to be secure and work locally.
- The site had to be bilingual (English and French) for an international audience.
- The business needed to manage activities, dates and bookings itself, without calling a developer.
02Solution
I built a custom booking platform on Laravel: a public website where travellers browse and book activities, and a back-office where the business runs them.
Why custom instead of a plugin or a marketplace
Booking marketplaces take a commission on every reservation, and ready-made plugins rarely handle per-activity daily limits and adult/child pricing cleanly. A custom platform fits exactly how Idyllic works, and every booking and payment goes straight to the business.
Activity pages built to convert
Each activity page follows the order in which a traveller decides: description, itinerary, practical information and map, with the booking panel always alongside. Everything needed to say yes is on one page.
Availability without overbooking
Booking runs on a calendar. The customer picks a date and the number of adults and children; the system checks the places left for that activity on that day in real time, and blocks any booking that would go over the limit. The price is calculated as they go.
Online payment
Payments go through Peach Payments, built into the site: the customer pays by card without leaving the website, and the reservation is confirmed straight away. Confirmation emails and other follow-up tasks run in background queues with Laravel Horizon, so checkout stays fast.
Two dashboards
- Customers see their bookings and reservation details from their account.
- The business manages activities, prices and daily capacity, follows bookings, and updates website content.
03Results
Idyllic Tour Vibes went from no website to a platform that takes bookings and payments online, day and night.
- Bookable 24/7: travellers can check a date, book and pay without waiting for a reply.
- No overbooking: daily limits are enforced automatically for every activity.
- Paid when booked: reservations are paid online upfront, not on the day.
- Run in-house: activities, prices, availability and content are managed from the back-office.
- Ready to grow: new activities can be added at any time, without touching the code.
