Challenge
The client, a local tour operator in Mauritius, needed a professional website to promote his tourism services and attract both international and local travelers. Before the project, the business had very limited online presence and relied mostly on social media and word-of-mouth to generate bookings. This made it difficult for potential customers searching on Google to discover the business or learn about the services offered.
Another challenge was organizing several types of services in a clear and intuitive way. The company offered multiple excursions, transportation services, car rentals, and accommodation options. Presenting all these services on a single website while maintaining a simple navigation structure required careful planning.
Additionally, the client wanted the website to support both English and French visitors since Mauritius receives tourists from many countries. The website needed to be fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices because many tourists search for activities directly from their smartphones.
Finally, the client wanted an easy way for customers to contact the business instantly. Many travelers prefer quick communication through messaging platforms rather than filling out long forms, so integrating a direct WhatsApp contact option was also an important requirement.
Solution
To address these challenges, I designed and developed a fully custom bilingual tourism website tailored specifically for the client's business needs. The website structure was carefully organized to present the company's services in a clear and visually appealing way. Separate sections were created for excursions, car rentals, and accommodations so visitors could easily explore the available options.
A modern responsive design was implemented to ensure the website works smoothly on all devices, including smartphones and tablets. Since many travelers browse tourism websites on mobile devices while planning their trips, optimizing the mobile experience was a key priority.
To make communication easier for customers, I integrated a WhatsApp contact button that allows visitors to instantly message the business with a single click. This greatly improves customer engagement and makes it easier for tourists to ask questions about excursions, pricing, or availability.
